The 23rd Annual Golf and Glory Outing for St. Louis Center took place on Monday June 26 at the University of Michigan Golf Course in Ann Arbor.

For the first time, this year’s golfers were able to experience the new Richard L. Postma Family Clubhouse, which was built in 2016 and dedicated earlier this year. A full course of 144 golfers were present along with a group of 11 celebrities that included retired members of the Detroit Lions and several referees and officials from the Big Ten.

Following the outing, an awards ceremony and sports memorabilia auction took place during dinner, and two major awards were given out to major contributors of St. Louis Center during the past year. They included the John Panelli Celebrity Award given to State Sen. Joe Hune (R-22) and Andrew Shmina of A.Z. Shmina, Inc. in Brighton. Hune obtained a $120,000 grant from the State of Michigan for St. Louis Center this fiscal year, while Shmina is chairman of the SLC Community Advisory Council and a longtime contributor.

John Kemner of Manchester was the winner of the Alaskan Cruise Raffle drawn during the event, and a foursome from Golling Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram in Chelsea was the 1st place team in the outing.
