24th Annual Heart and Sole walk/run/bike race countdown is on …

Lace up your running shoes or dust off your biking shoes.

Chelsea Community Hospital is again hosting the 24th Annual Heart and Sole Run/Walk/Bike on Saturday, May 4.

The Heart and Sole race benefits Chelsea Grace Clinic, a local non-profit providing healthcare to the underserved in Western Washtenaw County. It offers a distance for participants of all ages and abilities with 2-Mile and 5K Run/Walk, a 10K Run as well as a 13.8 mile bike race or bike/run combination for persons ages 14 and older.

Afterward, spectators and participants are invited to stay for a community pancake breakfast including fruit, yogurt and pancakes, according to information about the event.

The cost of breakfast is by donation and will be held in the Chelsea High School commons from 9:15-11:30 a.m.

All events start at or near the Chelsea High School and race packets will be distributed Friday, May 3, from 4-7 p.m. during the Pre-Race Expo.

Late registration packet pickup will take place Saturday morning from 7 a.m. until 15 minutes prior to race time.

The bike race begins at 8:15 am and the run/walks begin at 9:30 am.

A 10:45 am award ceremony will announce overall winners as well as the top 3-male/female finishers in each age group.

All youth finishers also receive a completion ribbon at the finish line.
