Chelsea tennis won the SEC Conference meet Tuesday in Chelsea.

The Bulldogs ended the day with 24 points, Dexter had 15 points to finish in 2nd place. Adrian was in 3rd and Lincoln finished in 4th place.

Each of the Chelsea players won their flight to finish first place All-SEC.

The 3 doubles team of Joy McCarthy and Carrie Williams didn’t lose a game, defeating all of their opponents 6-0, 6-0. The pair kept their focus throughout the matches and were able to go the entire day without losing a game, which is quite impressive, said Coach Matt Pedlow.

“All of the girls played good tennis, and it was a great way to send off the 7 seniors and one exchange student whose last home match it was,” he said.

Hannah Moore and Katie Lee have played four years of varsity tennis, and Sam Jabara has played three years.

“I’m losing a large core of our varsity team, but we have a number of girls on JV who are really looking forward to playing varsity next year,” Pedlow said.

This is the third straight year Chelsea has won the SEC White Division title.
