Cucumbers and peas and summer squash, oh my! The veggies are coming into full swing tomorrow at the downtown Chelsea Farmers Market, now secure in its new home in the parking lot on Park Street from 8 a.m. until noon (bordered by the First United Methodist Church, the library and Merkel Furniture). There are still strawberries too, of course.

Drivers on north Main Street got a surprise this morning: the driver of a Toyota Tundra owned by Conklin Plumbing lost control and crashed into a house at 604 N. Main Street. As you can see in the photo gallery below, the truck is actually holding up what’s left of the porch.

A new extended obituary was posted today for First Lt. Joel Christopher Gentz, 2002 Chelsea High School graduate, honors student, athlete, combat rescue officer and husband, killed in action June 9 during a rescue mission in Afghanistan, where he had been deployed since April 24.
