The Ugly Dog Distillery at 14495 North Territorial Road (at Stofer), which we wrote about some time ago, is officially open for business.
The hours, however, are not so official. Jon and Dewey are around roughly from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m., but those times change, so call ahead: 433-0433. There are a few recipes posted on the company’s new Facebook page, as well.
I was in there recently to purchase a bottle of vodka (very good, BTW). I asked about tasting, and the owner said there will be no in-house tasting unless he decides to cough up a big wad o’cash to the township. Sheesh.
I inquired about future products and he said rum and gin might someday become available, but he still has a lot of work (and learning) to do.
Are you interested in a collaborator, financial backer, more exposure, a free salesperson to get your product out into the marketplace, all of the above? We are looking for an investment and my son is a natural born salesperson, not to mention knowing an enormous number of people in the area. Would you like to sit down and throw some ideas around?
