To submit a news release or tip, email mail@chelseaupdate.com.

You can contribute stories to Chelsea Update – we especially welcome parents’ and spectators’ stories and photos from the many athletic events in town!

To send in a story, email it to mail@chelseaupdate.com. Include your full name, email address and a phone number where we can reach you with questions. If you’re related to or associated with anyone in the story, please let us know – it doesn’t disqualify you from writing, but we like to let readers know where their stories are coming from.

All stories will be edited as needed for length, style, grammar and clarity.

To submit a digital photo (images are very welcome!) to go with your story, please select a nice, crisp image that clearly shows what the story is about.

Then upload your photo to an image storage service. We like Imageshack. You can also email the photo.

Send me the direct link for your uploaded photo, if necessary. If you know the names of the people in the photo, PLEASE include them in your message – and double-check spelling before sending. Always describe the action you captured in your photo. People who weren’t there may not immediately see what was going on.

That’s it! No promises about whether or how quickly the story will appear, but most appropriate pieces will make it online.

We are not accepting editorials at this time.

For an example of a wonderful sports story submitted by a parent, see Todd Ortbring’s story about a Chelsea freshman football game.

I’m not sure I have the right place to ask a question, but here goes. How do you go about getting something written on the rock at Pierce Park? My husband has a birthday coming up in December, so I’d like to wish him a happy birthday by means of the rock. Could you please e-mail me with the details on how to have things written there? I would be very grateful. Thank you so much. Cheryl Stewart
