There is a dairy farm located in the Chelsea area from which pregnant cats were recently rescued. Now they’ve given birth to some precious kittens who need homes.

The kittens are each 8-to-9 weeks old and have been dewormed, treated with flea prevention, tested negative for FIV/heartworm/leukemia, vaccinated against FVRCP and feline leukemia, and microchipped.

The Age of Miracles rescue has been caring for the pregnant cats and kittens in a foster home.

“When the kittens are weaned, then the mama cats will be spayed and returned to the wild,” explained Tara Stone, a volunteer at Age of Miracles, who said the farm was over-run with the feral cat community. “The rescue is currently inviting people in the community to be a TNR (trap, neuter, release) sponsor. It is a process whereby the rescue traps the feral cats in order to spay or neuter them and then they release them back to the farm to live without the risk of producing more litters.”

Stone says sterilizing the cats mean they’re less likely to roam, which means less likely to get hit by a car or killed by a predator.

“Sterilization eliminates prostate and ovarian cancer and allows females to live without the physical stress of pregnancy, birth and lactation,” said Stone.

Age of Miracles’ mission is to rehabilitate cats and dogs while providing proper veterinary care with the ultimate goal of placing each animal in a loving home and is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization operating out of Chelsea. It is volunteer-run, foster-based, and funding comes through donations.

Anyone interested in adopting any of the kittens as well as Aphrodite, a previously pregnant mama cat, can do so for a $75 fee and must complete the pre-adoption questionnaire found at [email protected].

Donations to Age of Miracles can be made here.
