If you are considering adopting a kitten, head to Wags to Wiskers at 1171 South Main St. this Saturday, Nov. 15 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. when kittens Madison, Starfish, Turkey, Snickers, Plumb, and Pumpkin will be looking for a home.

The kittens come from the Age of Miracles Animal Rescue, an organization formed in May 2012 in Chelsea to help animals in need.

Sarah Patrias is the founder and director, Dr. Holly Andrick from Lane Animal Hospital is the veterinarian, and Charity Sutherland is the assistant director. Tara Stone is a volunteer.

“At the heart of our group are three amazing women who have dedicated their passion and countless hours to saving unwanted, abandoned and injured animals,” said Stone. “We have rescued and adopted out 104 animals thus far and currently have 14 in foster care getting them ready for adoption.”

The Age of Miracles is a non-profit, and all funds raised go to helping rehabilitate and care for animals.

“We focus on small animals, primarily cats and kittens and dogs and puppies,” said Stone. “We work with several area animal shelters to pull animals that are ill or at high risk of being euthanized due to lack of space.”

The Age of Miracles also works with a network of animal rescue groups across the state with the help of volunteers who help with transportation. Stone says they are always looking for volunteers and foster homes as well as donations.

There is no physical location, just a network of foster people who open their homes to animals in need.

“When someone is interested in adopting an animal, we arrange to meet in a convenient location,” said Stone.

The Age of Miracles can be reached by email at [email protected], Facebook by name, or by calling 734-476-8313.
