The Chelsea District Library is hosting a College and Career Planning event with Nick and Cathy Synko of Synko Associates on Sunday, April 19, 2-4 p.m.

Nick and Cathy Synko have been working as professional career coaches for over 20 years.  They have helped adults at every stage of their careers determine their options, optimize their job searches, and develop their personal and professional career goals. Now, the Synkos are focusing on a new generation.

The College and Career Planning Workshop is aimed at high school students who are just beginning their career paths. This one-of-a-kind, 2-hour workshop will not only inspire students to find careers that suits their strengths, but will give students the tools and training to create a personal college and career success plan.

“We are extremely excited to offer this new workshop,” librarian Edith Donnell said, explaining, “I have hosted many programs helping students as they prepare for testing, apply for scholarships, even file for Federal Student Aid, but I hear from many students that they aren’t sure what they plan to do in college, or what they want to do afterwards.  Nick Synko will be able to reveal to students what their personal goals and aspirations might actually be.  Everyone who attends this workshop will leave with a better understanding of themselves, even the parents.”
