Morgan Kern of Chelsea was named the 2013 Chelsea Community Fair Queen Friday night.

Earlier in the day, she was named the 2013 Junior Homemaker of the fair.

The 16 year old is homeschooled and is the daughter of Jill and Kevin Kern.

She played the banjo beautifully during the talent portion and was also the talent winner.

Kern was sponsored by The Parts Peddler and Kern Auto.

When asked which win was more exciting, she readily admitted that being named fair queen, something she’s always wanted to do, topped her morning title.

Katie Hicks, 18, a senior at Dexter High School was both the first runner-up and Miss Congeniality.  She is the daughter of Colette and Mark Hicks and was sponsored by Roger’s Corners Herdsmen.

Kelsey Olberg, 16, a junior at Chelsea High School was second runner-up. She is the daughter of Stacey and Rick Olberg and was sponsored by Simply Green Lawn Care.
