Aug. 15: Check out LA Baguette at the Wednesday Farmers Market

By Lisa Carolin

After six successful summers at the Saturday farmers market in Chelsea, LA Baguette decided to start selling its baked goods at the Chelsea Wednesday farmers market this year in addition to the Saturday market. Full disclosure: I am half the team of LA Baguette along with my partner Suzanne Murray, and we are thrilled to be vendors at both of Chelsea’s farmers markets.

Murray is a retired French teacher who has a passion for all things French. When she retired from teaching, we combined her dream to sell French baked goods, and my dream to own a business, and created LA Baguette.

We subscribe to Michigan’s Cottage Food Law and do all of our baking in our Scio Township home.

Please stop by LA Baguette for our breads-baguettes, rye sesame boule, and brioche; for cakes-nectarine and blueberry cake, walnut cake, and ricotta and dark chocolate torta; and for cookies — madeleines, honey roasted peanut cookies, sablé, and gluten-free chocolate chip cookies, as well as lemon bars and tartlets.

At the market, you’ll also find seasonal fruit, beans, zucchini, lettuce, onions, eggplant, carrots, potatoes, meats and cheeses.

The market runs from 2-6 p.m. and is located at the Chelsea State Bank parking lot at the intersection of M-52 and Old US-12.
