The Chelsea District Library will hold a public hearing on its proposed 2014 budget on Tuesday, Aug. 20 at 6:45 p.m. in the McKune Room.
The proposed property tax millage rate to support the proposed budget is the subject of this hearing and the budget documents are available at the library.
There is a proposed total millage of 2.4321 mills – 1.6321 mills for operations and 0.8 mills for bond debt. If approved by the Board of Directors, what this means to taxpayers is $243.21 for a home with a taxable value of $100,000.
No increases are being proposed in the millage rate.
