(Chelsea Update would like to thank Bob Milbrodt for the information in this story.)

The Chelsea Kiwanis Club will have a dedication ceremony for the two pieces of playground equipment that were installed at Pierce Park on Saturday, Aug. 29 at 11 a.m.

The park equipment theme is “Music Garden,” and visitors can compose their own melodies with a friend or by themselves with the instruments. We thank James Bauer Construction for generously installing the instruments at no charge to our club.

There will be free popcorn and lemonade served to everyone who attends the ceremony at Pierce Park.

At the last Kiwanis Club meeting, Phil Boham gave a very thorough explanation of the services provided by Huron Valley Ambulance in southeastern Michigan. Most interesting was the recounting of his 12-hour “ride along” with the paramedics in the ambulance. As the ambulance is built on a truck frame, the ride is not the most comfortable. Beyond that, the people requiring their service are far from at their best when paramedics arrive. Their job is very difficult, sometimes harrowing, and critical when needed.
