The Chelsea Kiwanis Club will hear from Bob Pierce, executive director of the Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce on Aug. 8 at the club meeting.

He is expected to discuss the Sounds and Sights Festival, progress on the Huron Pathway, the Big 400, and Citizen of the Year and Lifetime Achievement winners.

At our last meeting, members reviewed our operations looking for ways to improve service to our customers, and we look forward to having the food trailer at the Chelsea Community Fair. We will be open for business starting Sunday, Aug. 21, as tractor pull events begin in the Main Arena as well as through the reminder of fair week.

In September, the food trailer will serve visitors at all home football games. The club will operate our trailer for the Chelsea Band Boosters event on Wednesday, Sept. 21, when many bands will be invited to play and march.

Two days later, we will sponsor the NFL’s Punt, Pass and Kick competition with the Chelsea PTO on Friday, Sept. 23, next to the football field, after school, and before the game.

The club meeting begins each Monday at 6:15 p.m. in the St. Joseph Mercy-Chelsea Hospital cafeteria, and the speakers begin at about 6:45 p.m.

Everyone is invited to the club’s meetings to learn about Kiwanis.
