Sounds & Sights on Thursday Nights, presented by Rick Taylor Real Estate – Reinhart Realtors continues its free summer concert series Thursday, Aug. 9 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Professional artists perform at 10-staged areas located throughout downtown Chelsea featuring music, dance, and family entertainment.

The stellar music line-up features classic rockers Mo’Easy at South Street and blues band, BluesMatics, at the Glazier building.  Ann Arbor’s rock and soul cover band, Naked Ace, will cover music spanning the decades of rock, soul, and blues under the Clocktower Gazebo.

Singer Songwriters include indie/pop singer Grace Elizabeth Lee at the Sylvan Stage and rhythm and blues duo, Cate Haberi and Delbert Walling, at East Alley.

Katie’s Korner at the Chelsea District Library will feature Athens Creek making their Sounds and Sights debut. Athens Creek is an acoustic duo from Southeast Michigan with roots in folk, country and rock.

Also new, to Sounds and Sights, Metro Soul Band, will be performing at E. Middle Street.

There is something for the whole family including temporary tattoos by the Chelsea PTO Tattoo Parlor at the Kids stage in the Clocktower Complex and unique balloon animals created by 3 Generations Twisters.

Spectators wishing to learn to draw are encouraged to visit the Chelsea Chalk Art area beneath the Chelsea iconic Clocktower on Main Street. Chalk and drawing examples are provided for free to all ages and levels of expertise.  The theme on Aug. 9 is “How to draw Favorite Cartoons”.

There are several new sights around town, including the Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce’s Guitars for Good, sponsored by Tammy Lehman of Lehman and Scheffler Real Estate Services.

Local nonprofits decorated acoustic guitars and have them displayed at various businesses throughout Chelsea.   Visitors can vote on their favorite guitar and enter into a drawing to win the guitar for one dollar.  The proceeds will be given to the 12 charities.
