(Chelsea Update would like to thank coaches Rahn Rosentreter, Corey Knight, Dennis Strzyzewski and Jake Hollenbeck for the information in this story.)

The 7th Grade Blue basketball team put together a strong defensive effort Monday by outscoring Dexter 24-0 in the third quarter.

Ryan Spadafore lead the quarter with 12 points while the clouds parted long enough for John Davis to make a 3-pointer late in the contest. Brendan Hacket also played well for the Dawgs.

The 7th Grade Gold basketball team lost to Dexter in overtime Monday.  Ross Stofflet led the team in scoring with 10 points.  Chris White scored 6. Patrick Kelleher, Sam Michael, and Shane Nold each had 4. Max Konschuh had 3. Louis Guthre, Nathan Banotai, Josiah Fitch, and Aidan Delwiche all scored for the Bulldogs as well.

The 8th Grade Blue basketball team beat Dexter Monday night, 29-18.

Joe Melton posted his way to a game high 23 points. Chase Kunzelman stepped back and knocked down what appeared to be a half court three, Leo St. Amour won the Windex award by grabbing 17 rebounds and Quinn Starky was nearly taken into custody for 13 steals.

Coach S would have been the only player to break the team’s press … lucky for the blue team, he wasn’t playing.  Many others played well and everyone involved did their part to get the win.

The 8th Grade Gold basketball team gave it all they had and won a great game against Dexter, 37-31, Monday night. The team was down by 2 with 10 seconds to go, and Gavin Bell made a game tying basket as time expired.

The team outscored the Dreadnaughts by 6 in overtime to take the win.  The whole team played hard, and committed the win through tough nose defense and aggressiveness on the offensive side.  Griffin Bell, Gavin Bell, Aaron McDaniels, and Parker Shaw all had a great second half.  Nick Christian, Jake Spruce, and Jack Smith all played very well in the first half as well.
