8th Grade Blue
The Chelsea 8th Grade Blue team traveled to Temperance Bedford Tuesday night to face a much larger and stronger 8th Grade White team.

Chelsea opened up the game with Tyler Valik taking the full length of the field to score on their first possession, only to be called back by an unsportsmanlike penalty. From there, the Kicking Mules took over, stopping the Bulldogs offense from scoring on all of their first half possessions.

The Chelsea defense, led by linebackers Chase Kemp, Evan Tompkins, and defensive end Jonathan Aquilino gave their best efforts, but the Bulldogs couldn’t stop the intense powerful run game of the Kicking Mules. At half time, Chelsea trailed Bedford 24-0.

Halftime seemed to spark some life into the Dogs as they came out early in the third quarter a little more fired up. After a great kickoff placed deep by Connor McKenzie with Aquilino on the tackle, the Bulldogs defense stopped Bedford on their first possession of the half.

With powerful long runs by Evan Tompkins, Jack Krugh, and the swift speed of Tyler Valik, the Dogs were rallying for a comeback. With the play set up perfectly, the Bulldogs Jack Krugh found Connor McKenzie wide open down the side line for the first ‘6’ of the night for the Dogs.

The Bulldogs end up finding the end zone one more time with a run by Griffen Murphy for a TD. With the two-point conversion successful, that made it 24-14, Bedford on top quickly closing in on the 4th quarter.

Bedford wasn’t held down for long as they themselves dug down deep to add a couple more 4th quarter scores to the board. Chelsea ended up falling to the Kicking Mules 48-14.

Come see the 8th grade Blue team at home, in action, as they host Ypsilanti next Tuesday at 5:30.

7th Grade Gold
The 7th grade gold football team fell to Saline gold 38-6.

Leading the defense with tackles were Ty Wagner, Henry Lantis, Chandler Cox, Austin Hadley and Connor Donajkowski.

The rushing offense was led by Ty Wagner and Byron Bayer. Quarterback Lucas Dunn threw a touchdown pass to Connor Donajkowski for the Bulldogs’ score.

7th Grade Blue
The seventh grade blue team made the long trip to Bedford Tuesday to tangle with the Kicking Mules.

The Bulldogs got off to a good start scoring twice on runs by Ryan Martin and Carson Gray. Martin then added a two-point conversion. That was not enough to secure the victory as in the end the Dogs were outscored 38-14.

Along the way, the Bulldog defense recovered three fumbles, one by Martin, one by Hunter Shaw and a third by Brandon Emmert.

Jayden Woody came up with a big tackle, dropping the Bedford runner for a 15-yard loss. In addition to those already mentioned solid performances were turned in by Cole Munson, John Piatt and Ian Carter.

The blue team hosts Ypsilanti next Tuesday at 4:15 p.m.
