Beach Middle School swim and dive 3rd in Erie Mason Invite

The Beach Middle School Swim Team finished 3rd out of 7 teams at the Erie Mason Invitational last weekend.

Milan was first with 363 points followed by Bedford 313, Chelsea 275, Riverview 156.5, Dundee 120, Greenhills, 37 and Erie Mason 31.5 points.

Eighth grader Bella Turner set two new school records in the 50 and 100 freestyle events. Her second-place time of 25.22 in the 50 free beat the previous record set in 2016 by Alexis Nelson of 25.41. Her second-place time of 55.51 in the 100 free beat the time of 56.01 set by Kara Styles in 2001.

Turner was joined by Parker Olk, Jared Atkinson and Landen Collins for first place in the 200 medley relay. Olk, Riley Monahan, Collins and Turner also took first place in the 200 freestyle relay. Olk was also first in the 100 backstroke.

Other top 12 finishers are as follows:

  • 200 medley relay: Steven Levine, Lucas Hopkins, Beck Elandt, Jessica Neff 10th
  • 200 freestyle: Monahan 2nd, Amelia Christie 12th
  • 100 IM: Atkinson 5th, Chelsea Paddock 7th
  • 50 freestyle: Collins 5th
  • Diving: Olk 2nd, Devon Reginaldo 4th, McKenna Fletcher 5th, Bram Hartsuff 9th
  • 50 butterfly: Levine 11th
  • 100 freestyle: Collins 4th, Kate Gaiser 11th
  • 200 freestyle relay: Paddock, Hopkins, Elandt, Gaiser 7th
  • 100 backstroke: Levine 12th
  • 100 breaststroke: Atkinson 3rd, Paddock 6th
  • 400 freestyle relay: Gaiser, Paddock, Atkinson, Monahan 5th
