Beach Middle School volleyball and cross country recap

The 7th Grade Blue Volleyball Team had a big win against Tecumseh at home on Thursday, Oct. 16 winning the first game 25-8, losing the 2nd 17-25, and winning the 3rd 25-23.

Olivia Beauchamp provided some clutch serving under pressure in game 3 to score 5 of the last 6 points and Allison Hale and Morgan DeYoe provided dominating serves in game 1. Hale served 9 points, DeYoe 8, Beauchamp 6, Kelsey Weinreich 5, Maddie Bainton and Marianna Carpenter each had 2, and Kiersten Anstead, and Cassie Sutch each had 1.

The 8th Grade Girls Blue Volleyball team won one of the three sets against Tecumseh on Oct. 16.

Emily Savery helped win the game big time with 9 service points. Peyton Lajiness and Marissa Fredette had their best games of the season, having multiple service points and hits. Madeline Dapprich had some great serves with her best defense yet of the season.

In the last meet of their season, the Beach Cross Country team left it all out on the course Saturday.

In six different races, athletes turned out inspiring performances. Carson Rabbitt broke the school record, running two miles in 11 minutes and 23 seconds and Sydnee Liedel beat 125 other runners with the fastest time for the girls’ team.

Sydney Barnes, Kira Frahm, Spencer Smith and Zachary Cooley ran lifetime bests by substantial amounts. The eighth grade teams ran outstanding races with most runners achieving lifetime best performances.  And many seventh grade runners also ran lifetime bests Saturday suggesting the Bulldogs will be a force to be reckoned with next year.
