Chelsea announces new boys varsity basketball coach

Bulldog-logoMark Moundros has been hired as the new Chelsea High School varsity boys basketball coach.

Chelsea Athletic Director Brad Bush said in an email that “Mark is a teacher at Chelsea High School.  He has been an assistant in our program for 4 years.  We are excited to keep the continuity of the program moving forward.”

In addition, he said, “Mark has great respect among the students and staff.  He will do a great job continuing to move our program forward.”

Moundros replaces Josh Tropea who resigned recently as the boys varsity coach after two seasons.

Tropea guided the varsity team to a 16-6 record this year, the team’s best in nine years, Bush said.

“Josh is taking an assistant position at Spring Arbor University.  He will continue to teach at Beach Middle School in Chelsea. We support Coach Tropea in his goal of becoming a college basketball coach,” Bush said.
