The Chelsea boys Golf Team played in its first tournament of the year at the New Boston Huron Invitational on Tuesday, April 14. The Bulldogs had a good showing for their first 18-hole event of the season, but came up one shot shy of winning the 13 team event.  Trenton and Gibraltar Carlson shot 327, and the Bulldogs shot 328.

Leading the way for Chelsea was Ben Otto with a 74, (which tied for 2nd in the individual scoring), Lucas Derosia shot an 82, JJ Duncan finished with 85, and Jacob Hauser had an 87.

On the same day, we sent a second team to the Lincoln Invitational. It was a unique partners event, and I was very proud that the team was able to finish 6th in a mix of 12 varsity and JV teams.

On Friday, April 17, the Bulldogs played in the Haslett Invitational at Michigan State’s Forest Akers East Course. The team shot 325, a little better than our first outing, but it was only good enough to finish 10th out of a very strong field of 18 teams.

This time, JJ Duncan led the way with a 77, Ben Otto was next on the board with an 82, and Sean Lyons and Lucas Derosia both shot an 83.

Dewitt won the event with a score of 300, and Geoffrey Crowley from Dewitt, was the medalist with a 69.
