On Wednesday April 27, the Chelsea Golf Team picked up their first loss of the season, as they squared off with Saline at Brookside Golf Course and dropped the match 150-164.
Brookside can be a tough place to score, if you don’t know how to play it, and that worried me going in, coach Joe Ewald said.
Ben Otto shot 38 to lead the Bulldogs, followed by Cross Lucas with a 40. The rest of the squad, JJ Duncan, Jacob Hauser, Lucas Derosia, and Kurt Jolly, all shot 43.
On Saturday, April 30, Chelsea traveled to Tecumseh CC, for the Tecumseh Invitational.
The Bulldogs played great, in some pretty miserable weather (we have played in worse conditions), but this was still pretty challenging, the coach said.
The team shot a great score (for the conditions) of 310 to place 1st among 16 teams. Ann Arbor Huron was 2nd at 317, and Skyline was 3rd with a 321.
Scoring for Chelsea was Ben Otto, with a one over par 73, followed by Jacob Hauser, and Lucas Derosia with a pair of 76’s. JJ Duncan rounded out the scoring with an 85.
