Chelsea boys track 2-0, Chelsea Invite today

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Eric Swager for the information in this story.)

Chelsea boys track and field won another tough meet 79-58 over arch rivals, Dexter.

“They loaded the events up in an attempt to upset us, but we won several close events, and executed well enough to secure a victory and go to 2-0,” said coach Eric Swager.

Once again, the coach said, our distance runners came up big, winning a very fast 3200 relay and 1600 run, as well as taking multiple places in the 800 and 3200.  Cam Cooper won 3 individual events and led off a relay, while Chris Roush placed in 3 events as well.

“We picked up a few points in some field events, and in the hurdles with some tough efforts by our young guys,” Swager said.

Our team must continue to improve, the coach said, adding, “You can witness the improvement by coming down to the Chelsea Invite (today) Thursday afternoon.”

“Thanks to all the parents, coaches, fans, and supporters who have helped us host a quality meet,” he said.
