The Chelsea Bulldog boys Track and Field came together as a team to knock off an always-tough Adrian squad, 75-63, on Tuesday, April 14, which marks the 23rd straight dual meet win for Chelsea — a streak that extends back nearly five years to April of 2010.

The 4×800 team of Miles Fischer, Rayan Bahri, Brian Jacobs, and Campbell Fahle got the team off to a solid start and set the tone for the meet.

“The sprint squad really carried us today– these highlights included the 4×200 and 4×100 relay teams of Ken McDowell, Ty Nelson, Bailey Edwards, and Zach Skogheim, who turned in very good early season times,” the coach said.

Also, McDowell’s win in the 100 and the 1-2-3 sweep (Edwards, Skogheim, Lawrence Buckley) in the 200 were huge.

The team got other key wins from the following:

  • Noah Van Reesema in the High Jump, 110 Hurdles, and 300 Hurdles.
  • Micheal Rock in the Pole Vault
  • Jeremy Policht in the Long Jump.

“Also, many young guys continue to improve and compete hard,” Swager said. “We needed everyone to contribute yesterday, and I am pleased with our efforts.”

Swager encourages all sports fans to come down to the track today, Friday for the Chelsea Relays. Field events begin at 2:30 p.m., and running events begin at 3:30.

“Come support our thinclads as we strut our stuff at home,” he said.
