Chelsea District Library’s summer reading finale

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Patty Roberts and the library staff for the information in this article.)

Chelsea District Library’s Summer Reading Program ends Wednesday, July 30, with a space-themed finale and party.  Join the celebration on the library lawn from 12-2 p.m.

“Our space-themed finale will have you building rocket-ships, making water comets and doing all sorts of hands-on science activities. Lots of fun activities are planned with a bounce house, karaoke and even snow cones,” says Patty Roberts.

Participation was great throughout the community and even up this year from last. Youth numbers topped 1300 and the adult 280.

Plan to stay for “Little Red Riding Hood” presented by the Michigan Opera Theatre in the McKune Room from 2-3 p.m. 3 singers will present a delightful adaption of the family classic.

Summer Reading Grand Prize winners will be announced at the end of the show.

Congratulations to all the participants in this great reading program.
