The following is a statement from Chelsea Superintendent of Schools Julie Helber.
“A loss of a child impacts an entire community.
The Chelsea School District is mourning the loss of high school student Christopher Gingell.
Our hearts go out to the Gingell family first and foremost, but also to the students, staff and community during this time.
Each school building will have supports in place for students and staff members. We encourage parents to contact the school building where their child attends if they feel their child needs extra support.”
In addition, there will be counseling available this afternoon from from noon-3 p.m., in the WSEC Board room for students, staff and families to meet and speak with.
