The Chelsea District Library Board met on Tuesday, March 17, and is looking forward to next week’s Authors in Chelsea, which will take place in the schools during the day and at the Washington Street Education Center, Room 100 on Wednesday, March 25 from 6:30-8 p.m.

The authors will visit Chelsea schools during the day, and will be reading from their works and signing their books at the evening event.

The authors attending this year’s event are Johnathan Rand, Gary Schmidt, and Nancy Shaw.

The board also discussed the fact that they are in the final year of the current five-year strategic plan, and they are ready to begin planning the course of the next five years.

The Friends of the Library announced that they will be purchasing about $3,000 worth of new furniture for the library’s teen area. Representatives said that they raised $600 at the February used book sale, and $630 at the March sale. The next used book sale will take place on April 11, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
