(Chelsea Update would like to thank Dennis Strzyzewski for the information in this story.)

The Chelsea freshmen football team defeated Tecumseh in a home game Thursday, 38-0.

Joe Taylor scored three touchdowns. He had a kick return, a reception, and a run for scores. Tyler Valik ran for 100 yards and a scoring reception. AJ Tokarski had a 50-yard touchdown run. Hunter Ferry also had a rushing TD. Griffen Murphy threw two touchdown passes.

Tyler Wallgren and Chase Kemp each intercepted passes in the game. Corbin Steele and Dillon Dollinger led the Bulldogs in tackles.

“The kids played pretty well,” said coach Dennis Strzyzewski. “I think we showed a little more tenacity up front, and that made a big difference. Every week, we seem to be running to the ball better on defense. That is a sign that we are learning to play hard.”

“I think the kids are having fun,” the coach said, adding, “They are a really great group of kids.  It is never a chore to go to practice with this group.”
