The 2015 Chelsea girls track and field season started off well with a 4th place finish at the recent prestigious MSU Playmakers True Team invite at Jenison Fieldhouse in East Lansing where 15 teams competed.

“The meet served as an opportunity to show off some of our great talent and as an opportunity to see some areas were we need to improve if we wish to accomplish our season goals,” said Coach Shane Rodriguez.

Rachael Yordanich had a great race in the 60m dash, running one of the fastest 60m times in Chelsea history.

Artemis Eyster and Karana Wickens lead the distance contingent with a 2nd and 3rd place finish in the 2 mile.

Freshman Sydney Matusik ran very well to a 2nd place finish in the 400m dash.

Christine Schultz lead the way in the field events by jumping 9′ 6″ in the pole vault to take 3rd.

In the relays, the 4×200 and 4×400 both took second place, with freshman Kaehla Manly running well in both relays in her first meet.

Laney Miller and Victoria Dennis were upperclassmen that ran well and scored a lot of points for the team.
