The Chelsea Golf Team got the SEC Season started, as they hosted the Adrian Maples at Reddeman Farms on April 20. The Bulldogs won the match 159 to 198.  Scoring for Chelsea was Ben Otto with a 35, Jacob Hauser 37, Kurt Jolly shot a 43, and JJ Duncan had a 44.

On Friday April 22, the Bulldogs traveled to Marshall CC, for the Marshall Invitational and shot a score of 331 to place 4th out of 18 teams. “It was a great event, in the sense that we left the seniors at home, and showed we can still compete,” said coach Joe Ewald.

Leading the way for Chelsea was Lucas Derosia with a fine 74, Kurt Jolly was next with an 80, Cross Lucas shot 86, and Preston Ewald had 91.

On Monday, April 25, the Bulldogs hosted Ann Arbor Skyline and Ann Arbor Huron at Reddeman Farms.

Chelsea won the match with a 154, Skyline was next with a 158, and Huron shot 163. “It was two great wins for us,” Ewald said, adding, “as both Huron and Skyline have high expectations for their squads this year. Last season, Huron was the Red Division Champ, and Skyline was the runner up.”

Again Ben Otto led the way with an even par round of 36. Cross Lucas shot 38, Kurt Jolly had a 39, and JJ Duncan had a 41.

The JV won both of their matches with a 5th man tiebreaker over Skyline, and a 2 shot win over Huron. A score of 184 shows the JV is continuing to improve, and the future looks promising as all six of the JV players broke 50.
