This week, the Chelsea High School parking lot is filled with the sounds of music during the annual CHS Marching Band Camp.

The 146-member band was handed music on Monday and is working on the halftime show for the upcoming football season. This year’s theme is “Star Power” and will be led by drum majors Caroline Hirth, Stephanie Dehoorne, and Lisa Kaiser.

They will end the week with their annual fundraising car wash at Chelsea State Bank on Saturday, Aug. 5, from 1-5 p.m. The 2017 Chelsea Bulldog Marching Band will make its first public appearance in the Chelsea Fair Parade on Aug. 26. Then the brand new halftime show will debut at the first home football game of the season when Chelsea hosts Pinckney on Sept. 1 at 7 p.m.
