Chelsea Human Rights Commission encourages community to take survey

By Lisa Carolin

From now through June 16, the Chelsea Human Rights Commission is looking for public input in the form of a survey.

Two surveys, one for individuals and one for organizations, are both available on line as well as in hard copy.

The HRC met on April 18 and talked about how they will use information from the surveys. Responses will help the HRC determine issues in the community.

According to the HRC, “The purpose of the survey is to learn about residents’ perceptions of human rights priorities in Chelsea and what issues the community wants the HRC to work on. It will provide an opportunity for interested citizens to become involved with helping the HRC make the Chelsea community a better place to live for all of us.”

The survey has just seven questions and responses can be anonymous.

The individual survey can be found at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Chelsea_HRC_Individual_Survey and the organizational survey is at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Chelsea_HRC_Organizational_Survey.

Hard copies of the surveys are available at Chelsea City Offices, Chelsea District Library, Faith in Action, Chelsea Senior Center, Silver Maples, The Pines, Chelsea Retirement Center, and Chelsea Wellness Center, all of which have collection boxes for the completed surveys.

At the meeting, the HRC approved a PowerPoint presentation about the HRC and the survey for dissemination.

The HRC would also like to remind anyone interested that there is an opening on the commission.
