Chelsea Human Rights Commission hopes City Council OKS surveys, plan for 2018

By Lisa Carolin

The Chelsea Human Rights Commission’s goal is that by the end of the year the Chelsea City Council will have approved both the HRC surveys and a plan for the upcoming year.

That was one of the topics discussed at the HRC’s Nov. 1 meeting.

The surveys, which were approved by the HRC at its last meeting, include one for organizations and one for residents, with the purpose of determining issues in the community.

The HRC is planning that once approved, the surveys will be available for 60 days. Results of the surveys will help the HRC prioritize issues.

The HRC plans to approve drafts of its plan for 2018 at its next meeting on Nov. 15 with the goal of submitting both the plan and surveys to the City Council in November and getting everything approved by the time the City Council holds its final meeting of the year on Dec. 18.
