Chelsea Kiwanis Club to celebrate Valentine’s Day

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Bob Milbrodt for the information in this story.)

The Chelsea Kiwanis Club will celebrate Valentine’s Day with a special meal for their spouses Monday night at their weekly meeting on Feb. 12.

Last week, they heard from Nancy Paul from Faith in Action (FIA) who reported that Food Gatherers delivers fruit, vegetables, and protein three times a week, healthier choices for the growing need in Chelsea. She said 10,000 volunteer hours were used to keep up with the workload.

FIA is working with Avalon Housing to bring more opportunities for low cost housing to Chelsea. There are only 18 spots available for every 100 in need.

The club meeting begins each Monday at 6:15 p.m. in the St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea Hospital cafeteria, and the speakers begin at about 6:45 p.m. Everyone is invited to the club’s meetings to learn about Kiwanis.
