Chelsea Kiwanis Club travels to Saline club for meeting

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Bob Milbrodt for the information in this column.)

Recently, several of the Chelsea Kiwanis Club members attended the 25th anniversary celebration of the founding of the Manchester Kiwanis Club.

The featured speaker was Sue Petrisin, who will begin her role as Kiwanis International president on Oct. 1. She is from Michigan, the home of Kiwanis, and the first woman to lead the organization with over 600,000 members in 80 countries.

This year marks its 100th year since beginning in Detroit in 1915. She spoke about her travels to the countries where the Kiwanis International Service Project “Eliminate” works with UNICEF to rid the world of maternal and neonatal tetanus, which takes the lives of more than 100,000 babies each year.

This week, members will  have their meeting at Brecon Village with the Saline Kiwanis Club. The speaker will be John Boldoni, a recognized executive coach and educator, author of 12 leadership books.
