Chelsea Kiwanis Club fruit sale a success

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Bob Milbrodt for the information in this story.)

Thank you to all in the community who purchased citrus during the Chelsea Kiwanis 40th Annual Fruit Sale.

The sale is the club’s second largest fundraiser after our food concession trailer, and supports the projects and groups we sponsor in the Chelsea area. Some of those groups are Faith in Action, Western Washtenaw Area Value Express, Chelsea Community Fair, and because our efforts are especially directed toward children, Chelsea Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and scholarships at Chelsea School’s Preschool.

The club donated 36 cases of Florida navel oranges, tangelos, and red grapefruit to Faith in Action this week to be added to Christmas baskets for families.

The Chelsea High School Key Club also added to Faith in Action’s pantry this week by going door to door singing Christmas carols and collecting canned goods.

This Monday, instead of our regular meeting at the hospital dining room, we will attend a pot luck Christmas party at the home of one of our members.
