Chelsea Kiwanis Members Helping Other Folks in the Community

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Bob Milbrodt for the information in this story.)

Yesterday, Chelsea Kiwanis Club members cheered on participants at Hudson Mills Metropark during Nancy Cooper’s Fun Run. Runners, walkers, and wheelchair riders from all over Washtenaw County take a lap, two laps, and even three (if they are speedy) around the park. This event has been held every year since 1983.

On Saturday, May 20, club members will staff a water station on North Freer Road for St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea Hospital’s Heart and Sole Run/Walk/Bike Event.  Proceeds to benefit the hospital’s renovation of the Behavioral Health Department.

Monday, May 22, is the club’s annual Scout Night. We share a meal with troops and packs from Chelsea’s Boy Scouts, and learn about their many fun, educational, and character building activities.

The club meeting begins each Monday at 6:15 p.m. in the St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea Hospital cafeteria, and the speakers begin at about 6:45 p.m.

Everyone is invited to the club’s meetings to learn about Kiwanis.
