Combined frosh-JV team defeats Dexter, 34-12

Since Dexter doesn’t have enough participants to field a freshman squad, the Chelsea freshman football team scheduled a game against Olivet. However, Olivet was forced to cancel that game, and as a result, the Chelsea JV and frosh teams combined forces to take on the Dexter JV team.

Chelsea dressed over 60 kids to participate in that contest while Dexter had 25. That depth showed as Chelsea dominated play in a thorough 34-14 victory.

Chelsea’s sophomores took care of business in the first half, building a 20-0 lead behind a punishing running game and outstanding defense.

In the 2nd half, all of Chelsea’s freshmen got into the game and did a fine job. The freshman squad had a nice scoring drive, took a kickoff return back for a TD, and its defense played well, too.

This was a great statement about our program.
