(Chelsea Update would like to thank Tanner Starkey, David Slusser, Nathan Dawson, Larry Marz and Daniel Rhodes for the information in this story and all season.)

7th grade gold

The 7th grade gold team finished their season by hosting Saline.

The Bulldogs lost 48-0. Great runs by Dominic Searl, Matt Blanton, and Will Wilhelm helped move the ball on offense. On defense, Liam Duncan had a huge interception that fired up the team.

The gold team improved every week. Good season boys.

7th grade blue

The Chelsea 7th grade blue team dropped their season finale against Monroe 44-0.

Drew Sherwood led the Bulldogs on offense with a few hard runs while Elijah Ratliff pitched in with some good tackles on defense.

The 7th grade blue team finished the season 1-4-1.

8th grade gold

Wednesday night, the Chelsea 8th grade gold football team hosted Saline in its  last game of the season.

While the score didn’t end in the Bulldog’s favor, they we’re able to make some really nice plays on both sides of the ball. On defense, Nolan Sinkwitts and Luke Dunn would both finish with interceptions. Trevor Vosters, Jayden Woody, and Sinkwitts also lead the defense with many tackles.

Offensively, things were quiet in the first half for the Bulldogs. Halftime left Saline on top 24-0.

Early in the third quarter, Vosters was able to give Chelsea their first score of the night with a huge 70-yard TD run. Later in the 4th quarter he would add to that score with another 60-yard run for his second TD.

Dunn would find Ben S for the 2-point conversion.

The final score was Saline 50, Chelsea 14.

8th grade blue

The 8th grade blue football team made the long trip to Monroe Wednesday night to finish their season with a resounding loss to the Trojans. Depleted by injuries, the Bulldogs could not stop a very good Monroe team on the cold and windy night and fell by a 40-0 score.

Not helping their own cause, Chelsea gave up the ball four times, tossing two interceptions and giving up two fumbles.

There were some highlights, center John Piatt and guards Colin Ledbetter and Tyler McIntosh, and wide receiver Ethan Lyles provided consistent blocking on the offensive line.

Running backs Cole Munson, Drew Mcguire and Diego Medel turned in several exciting runs but were denied the end zone despite their efforts.

Defensively, Peter Fredenberg turned in his second exceptional game in a row. Robbie Tyson, Lyles, Munson, Maguire and Medel gave their usual great efforts but they were not enough to stop the Monroe jugernaught.

Despite the loss, the blue team made improvement throughout the season, got the job done academically and learned a lot about teamwork, sportsmanship and the value of hard work.
