Flood watch issued for Washtenaw County

There is a flood watch in effect though Wednesday afternoon for Washtenaw County.

* Widespread rain will develop across the region Monday through Wednesday. Rainfall will be moderate in intensity at times. Rainfall amounts between 1 and 3 inches are expected with additional water added to runoff from the complete melting of the snowpack.

* Urban, low lying and poor drainage areas prone to flooding will be most susceptible. Rises on area rivers, streams and creeks are expected, with the potential for minor flooding to occur.

A flood watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts.

You should monitor weather forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
