Four school board candidates file for two seats in November election

The race is on with four candidates filing for two Chelsea Board of Education seats that are up for grabs in the November general election.

Incumbent and current Board President Steve Olsen is seeking re-election, while Board Member Jeff Crowder said previously that he would not seek re-election so he could concentrate on other aspects of his life.

“It is true that I have not decided to run for a second term,” he said. “It is largely an issue of time. I am in a program pursuing my doctorate and have been trying to juggle various commitments.”

Also filing were Dana Emmert, Laura Bush and Kathy Keinath.

Chelsea Update will have detailed stories about all the local candidates running in the November election beginning next month.
