The Rotary Club of Chelsea recently welcomed Guy Sanville, artistic director of the Purple Rose Theatre and Gerie Greenspan, the theatre company’s new development director.

Sanville taked about the health of the Purple Rose Theatre and its value to the local community; both on a business level and on a deeply personal one.

He reminisced about his first audition with the Purple Rose; from his strategic clothing attire in the hopes of being remembered to his culmination of a 20-year career with the Purple Rose.

Greenspan talked about the recent and successful Annual Barbeque Fundraising Event and how the “Rose” plans to outdo themselves at next year’s event.

The Purple Rose puts on an incredible fund-raising event as I’ve attended many over the years.

“This year’s BBQ was the best I had ever attended and I’m hoping I can get a ticket to attend the 2015 event,” Taylor said.

The Rotary Club of Chelsea meets every Tuesday afternoon in the basement of the Common Grill Restaurant at 12:15 p.m. These weekly meetings involve discussions on local and international projects the group’s involved with. Food is prepared by Chef Craig Common followed by a weekly guest speaker.
