Teenage girls and adult women can buy new, casual clothing, accessories and jewelry at a new store in downtown Chelsea. It’s called The Attic Boutique, and it’s located above Seitz’s Tavern, at 110 1/2 West Middle Street.
Deborah Coy opened the store Nov. 8 just in time for the Wine, Women and Shopping event, and it was such a success, that she’s been reordering and receiving special deliveries to be able to restock merchandise ever since.
“I wanted to fill a gap in town for affordable, comfortable clothing,” said Coy, who also sells some dressy clothing.
Coy has been selling clothing, including some from small, new designers, from an online boutique for the past five years. She is originally from Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, where she met her husband, who is from Chelsea.
Coy’s father was an officer in the Brazilian Navy and she lived in Maryland as well as in Australia.
Now after seven years in Chelsea and with two small children, Coy says she is happy to be living and working in the city.
“I never thought I would live in a small town, but I just love Chelsea,” said Coy. “This is a safe place for our children, and I’ve made so many friends.”
The Attic Boutique will have a big sale on Small Business Saturday, Nov. 30. The store’s hours are 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
