Head’s up: MODT plans additional I-94 roadwork

road construction(Publisher’s note: Since a lot of you use I-94, thought you’d want to know about this planned road work.)

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is planning closures on eastbound I-94 closure in the Ann Arbor-area the weekend of Sept. 20-23.

Additional work is scheduled on I-94 between M-14 and Scio Church Road as well as between State Street and Carpenter Road, including the I-94/US-23 interchange.

To complete road repairs, MDOT expects to impose nighttime single-lane closures on I-94 between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Weather permitting, eastbound I-94 is tentatively scheduled to be closed starting at 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, until 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23.

In addition, the following ramps will be closed that weekend:

The eastbound I-94 entrance and exit ramps at Jackson Road, Ann-Arbor Saline Road and State Street, and the westbound I-94 ramp to southbound US-23.

Alternate routes are strongly advised.

Westbound I-94 will not be closed; any work on westbound I-94 will take place at night, including repaving of the westbound I-94 interchange ramps.

All work on I-94 in Ann Arbor is expected to be complete by early November.
