Grand River Productions is planning to film “Guest Artist” inside The Depot beginning this week, which will mean that Jackson Street will be closed for several days beginning at 5 p.m.

The Chelsea City Council heard from representatives of the film company last month who said there will be some filming outside as well as in Cleary’s Pub and at The Pointe in Sylvan Township.

Jackson Street will be closed on Dec. 13-15 and on Dec. 17-23 from 5 p.m. to 7 a.m.

This will be the second film made in Chelsea in the last eight years. Scenes from “Betty Anne Waters” were shot on Garfield Street in 2009.

This film, however, takes place in fictional town of Lima, not Chelsea, but the city will be credited in the location credits, representatives said.

The film representatives said they loved Chelsea and it’s “It’s a Wonderful Life feel,” and that Michael Alden (“An American in Paris”) is the producer.

Once complete, the production company plans to shop the film around at film festivals.
