Jan. 26: Kiwanis Club of Chelsea to discuss national club’s 100th anniversary

The Kiwanis Club of Chelsea, in its 91st year, holds a weekly meeting on Monday nights at 6:15 p.m. in the St. Joseph Mercy-Chelsea cafeteria.

The clu welcomes visitors to the meetings to learn what Kiwanis is all about. Featured at each meeting is a speaker, who typically begins a presentation at 6:45 p.m.

This week’s featured topic will be the 100th anniversary celebration of Kiwanis that will take place this weekend.  Kiwanis began in Detroit on Jan. 21, 1915.

Today, Kiwanis is in over 80 countries, serving their communities through groups of all ages: elementary students (K Kids), middle school (Builders Club),  high school (Key Club), college (Circle K), adults (Kiwanis and AKtion Clubs).
