Kick off your Independence Day weekend with Sounds and Sights on Thursday Nights, presented by Golling Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Chelsea.

On Thursday, July 2 the summer-long concert series hosts 11 staged areas throughout downtown Chelsea featuring music, dance, and family entertainment from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

This week’s music line-up is a diverse mix of greasy rock, Americana, blues, folk and funk.  With songs both traditional and original, Bill Bynum and Co. brings country to the stage at Katie’s Korner on the library lawn.

Acoustic blues artist, Eric Moore performs at East Alley and The Swift Brothers present folk-pop at the Chelsea Alehouse Brewery.

After completing their 2015 European Tour, Captain Ivory returns to Chelsea’s South Street stage with high-energy, soulful rock. Bliss, performs world-pop at Sylvan Courtyard and the classic rock band, Crossroads, showcase danceable crowd favorites at East Middle Street. The Avery Goode Band performs a mix of blues and funk at the Clocktower Gazebo.

In addition to music, there is something for the whole family including the tap dance duo, 2×4, on stage at the Glazier building. Adjacent to the Glazier stage area, the Sounds and Sights Chalk Cube will be set up and chalk will be provided for visitors to create their own drawings.

Three Generations Twisters create unique balloon animals at the Main Street Alley and Dee Dee the Clown and The Face Painting Robot will be at the kid’s stage in the Clocktower courtyard.

Visitors are also invited to explore SculptureWalk Chelsea, a self-guided tour of twelve sculptures located throughout downtown Chelsea.  The new 2015/2016 SculptureWalk  guides are now available at local shops throughout downtown.

And at dusk, SRSLY outdoor cinema presents ‘Home’ (PG).
