The diverse music line-up features country and pop artist Kayla Kendall at the Sylvan Stage and Brian Brickley and The Martingales will play southern soul, rock and blues at the Glazier building.

Local favorite, David C. Bloom sings jazz standards and ballads of the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s at the Clocktower Gazebo. Singer- songwriter, Rochelle Clark, performs at the East Alley Stage.

On E. Middle Street, Blue Light Band will be performing rock and blues music, starting at 6:30. At 7:30, Ballet Chelsea will showcase dancers from their Dance Beat and Jazz Ensemble.

Katie’s Korner at the Chelsea District Library will feature Otter River. The Detroit-area classic country band plays a variety of country music that includes everything from high-energy, boot-stomping honky-tonk to lonesome classic country ballads.

There is something for the whole family including Colors the Clown with an animal magic show at the Kids stage in the Clocktower Complex and unique balloon animals created by 3 Generations Twisters.  Look for street-performances by Michael Lee Mime throughout downtown.

Chelsea Chalk Art will feature professional chalk artists Friday and Saturday and hold the annual Chalk Art Contest on Saturday during the Sounds and Sights Festival. Visit www.chelseafestivals.com/festival/chalk-art/ for information about the professional artists and how to enter the contest.

In addition to the free stages located throughout downtown, the Sounds and Sights Festival showcases a main stage inside the social tent located behind The Common Grill restaurant.   The social tent opens at 6 p.m., with live bands performing from 7 to 11 p.m.  Beer and wine will be for sale to those aged 21 and over.

Admission to the social tent is $5 and all ages are welcome.

Thursday the main stage features bands with Michigan roots. Chelsea natives, Ben Daniels Band (BDB) kick off the event at 7 p.m. BDB has toured the country several times, and regularly makes the rounds in the Great Lakes State. They believe in hard work, perseverance, and creatively challenging themselves and their audience.

At 9 p.m., The Accidentals take the stage with their range of orchestral-based music. Named among Yahoo Music’s “Top 10 Bands to Watch in 2017,” The Accidentals’ adventure began in their hometown of Traverse City, MI. Having grown up in musical families, the bandmates’ shared influences bounce between classical, jazz, bluegrass, country, alt-rock, and the obscure.

Adjacent to the Social and Entertainment Tent on W. Middle Street, the Food Court and features a variety of food and drink options from local and regional favorites including The Common Grill, Smokehouse 52 BBQ, Chelsea Kiwanis Food Cart, The Incredible Kettle Krab, LLC, Srodek’s Catering, Thompson’s Pizza and Amie Jo’s Elephant Ears.
