June 26: Kiwanis Club to Hear From Legacy Land Conservancy Representatives

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Bob Milbrodt for the information in this story.)

This Monday, the Chelsea Kiwanis Club will hear from Katrina Folsom and Larry Doll from Legacy Land Conservancy.

The Conservancy is a non-profit that protects land in Washtenaw and Jackson counties that has already protected more than 8,400 acres of woods, wetlands, prairies, and family farms for the benefit of our community.

Legacy operates six public nature preserves, manages land, and offers a wide range of volunteer opportunities and public events. Folsom joined Legacy in May 2016 after six years at another land conservancy in Bloomington, Indiana. She fell in love with the positive, practical land trust model and has been engaging people with community land conservation work ever since.

The club meeting begins each Monday at 6:15 p.m. in the St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea Hospital cafeteria, and the speakers begin at about 6:45 p.m.

Everyone is invited to the club’s meetings to learn about Kiwanis.
