After a very successful concert in Chelsea last summer, Rusted Root will be back again June 9 in the parking lot of The Rumpus Room at Jet’s Pizza, 506 N. Main Street with the event starting at 6 p.m. and the music at 8 p.m.

“As a result of last year’s concert, we were able to raise enough awareness and support to fully fund our current children’s home in Haiti,” said Suzei Povlich, co-founder of Project 418. “We are now ready to open a second children’s home and recognize that bringing an event in like this for our awesome community here in Chelsea can really make a significant impact toward our efforts in Haiti. It is a really big win at many levels for many people.”

All proceeds from ticket sales will go toward opening the second children’s home in Haiti.

Project 418 is “a solution-driven nonprofit that works with impoverished communities to develop meaningful opportunities focused on sustainable change.” Suzei Povlich and husband Jason Povlich, who own that Jet’s Pizza franchise, opened a children’s home in Haiti called the Hope Center a few years ago.

Suzei Povlich describes Rusted Root as, “a fusion of acoustic, rock, world and other styles of music, with a strong percussion section that draws from African, Latin American, and Native American influences. Rusted Root is a group of real people who are actively using their talents to help make a difference in the lives of others.”
